Dr. Eliud Kiplimo Kireger is the Managing Director/CEO of the Tea Research Foundation of Kenya. Dr. Kireger attained his PhD in Plant Eco-physiology from the University Wales, (UK), MSc in Genetics and Tree breeding from University of Toronto, (Canada) and a BSc in Forestry from Moi University (Kenya).He has also undertaken training in several professional courses including Conflict Management and Resolution, Strategic Leadership, Company Directorship, Change Management etc. He is also an Appointed Member of the Board of Management of Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) where he chairs the Audit Committee.
He has served as Senior Lecturer and Dean School of Natural Resource and Environmental Management at Kabianga University College, a Constituent College of Moi University. He has contributed to academia by mentoring many young scientists and supervising many graduate research projects at BSc, MSc and PhD levels at Moi University and Kabianga University College. Previously, Dr. Kireger worked with Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) as Research officer and Deputy project Manager at the Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) Social Forestry Training Project in Kitui. Dr Kireger received a Australian International Development Agency (AUSAID) award to train for a Certificate in Change Management Projects for Poverty Reduction through Action Learning and Research Methodology at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) in 2007; Association of Commonwealth Universities, Doctoral Research Fellowship, at the University of Wales (UK) in 1999; International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) award for training in Agroforestry Research, Nairobi, Kenya in 1995; International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Research Fellowship towards M.Sc., University of Toronto, Canada in 1989; Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), for training in Social Forestry Management at Kanto Forest Tree Breeding Station (Japan) in 1988. Dr. Kireger has over twenty years experience in training, research and consultancy in a wide range of areas relating to tree breeding/improvement, sustainable utilization and management of natural resources and development. He has also published widely in refereed journals, book chapters, books, conference/workshop papers, working documents, and many others. His professional services include: Member, African Forest Forum, Kenya Forestry Society, Agricultural Society of Kenya and Ecological society of Eastern Africa. Dr. Kireger has also served as a reviewer for several journals.

Dr John Kanyiri Wanyoko joined the former Tea Research Institute of East Africa (TRIEA) in1975 as an Assistant Chemist and has risen through the ranks to the position of a Chief Research Officer and Head Chemist. He served as acting Director for a stint of six months in 2009.
His area of specialization include: plant nutrition management, soil/water management, soil and analytical chemistry, biochemistry of tea (value addition), field experimentation and advanced statistics. He has over 30 years experience in fertilizer research in tea and has done consultancies in the areas of fertilizer formulation and utilization for the tea plant.
John obtained his first and second degrees at the University of Nairobi and a D. Phil in soil/plant nutrition at Moi University. He has published widely and has attended a number of workshops in soil science and tea product diversification.

Dr John Kipkoech Bore joined TRFK as a Horticulturist in August 1993 and currently holds the post of Deputy Director of Research.
Previously, he worked as an Assistant Agricultural Officer, Ministry of Agriculture in Tana River District and later at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) as a Research Officer where he worked on improvement and management of temperate fruit trees.
As a Horticulturist at TRFK, John has initiated many field trials on tea management and physiological responses. He has over 17 years of experience in tea management. He has a broad range of interests on tea environmental responses for enhanced sustainable tea productivity in Kenya. He has published widely and has attended a number of workshops on crop management. He holds a Diploma, Horticulture (Egerton); BSc, Agric. (Dalhousie, Canada); MSc, Hort. (Egerton) and PhD, Hort. (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya).

Dr David Murathe Kamau joined TRFK as a Soil Chemist in June 1997. Previously he was a Soil Scientist with the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), Muguga where he was the Head, Soil Science Division.
David has over 22 years of experience in agricultural and forestry research specializing in Soil fertility, Plant Nutrition and Fertilizer use. David’s current areas of interests include; productivity and resource use of ageing of tea gardens, chemistry of acid soils, fertilizer use and soil amendments.
He has published widely and participated in several training workshops and presented in many international conferences. He has also supervised graduate and post-graduate students. He holds a BSc in Chemistry (University of Nairobi), MSc in Forest Science specializing in Soil Fertility (University of Melbourne, Australia) and a PhD in Production Ecology and Resource Conservation (Wageningen University, Netherlands).
